The HR Award is an award granted by the European Commission to research establishments which implement the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers based on the principles of the European Charter for Researchers. It is a recommendation by the European Commission obliging research establishments to ensure adequate working conditions, career development systems and transparent procedures in the recruitment of researchers.

HR Award process timeline
At VÚTS, we signed up to the principles enshrined in the European Charter for Researchers on June 20, 2025, and thus began the first phase of the entire process.
1. PHASE – Initiation (07/2025 – 06/2026)
- Collecting data for GAP analysis, especially through a questionnaire survey
- Analysis of the current situation at VÚTS in connection with the fulfilment of the principles stated in the Charter (GAP Analysis)
- Preparation of the Action Plan according to the findings resulting from the GAP analysis
- Submission of the GAP Analysis, Action Plan and other documents to the European Commission
