Flexible couplings are used as a connecting element for connecting two misaligned shafts. The combination of two couplings with an inserted connecting link provides for not only the elimination of concurrency of axes, but mainly the elimination of general spatial skewing of the axes of connecting shafts.
The flexible coupling is torsion resistant and deflection compliant, which enables to transfer substantial torques at the concurrency of axes on a coupler up to one degree without radial and axial reaction forces in the embedding of the shafts connected. The torque in the coupling is transferred by a beam of diaphragms that is alternatively connected with flushing bolts to the coupling flanges. Individual coupling parts are connected with exactly defined tolerances without backlashes, and therefore the coupling slipping or running out is impossible
